These photographs were taken by my late father, Robert Hofstadter, during my parents' honeymoon, which they spent near Woodstock, New York shortly following their marriage in May of 1942. I found the negatives in an envelope quaintly labeled “Wedding trip” in my mother's handwriting. I scanned these negatives - and others taken by my father - and have spent some poignant but enjoyable hours “cleaning” them up in Photoshop. My late mother, Nancy Hofstadter, did not like being photographed, but she proved to be a powerful subject for her then-young husband, who was a lifelong amateur photographer and camera buff.
